Hello Drama!
Juanita Drama won the MUSICAL THEATRE SUPERIOR AWARD for our performance of Alice By Heart at the Washington State Thespian Festival last Friday! We were one of two schools to receive this award. This is the highest award presented for a performance at State. Congratulations to the Alice By Heart COMPANY, for the commitment, imagination and love that created our Award Winning Show!
On Thursday at STATE, we presented a year's worth of Juanita Drama (March to March) to a board of adjudicators and earned the status of GOLD HONOR TROUPE! The rubric is in three parts: Thespian Participation, Productions and Community Service. We needed 100 total points for a Gold Award. We presented over 130 for a solid ranking. Congratulations to everyone in Juanita Drama (including Alumni from Spring 2024) for Troupe 3422's GOLD HONOR STATUS, 2025! This is the THIRD year in a row to achieve this statue. Look for the trophies in the Lobby!
SHOW SHIRT DAYS ARE WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY AND FRIDAY! Thursday is STYLE YOUR SHOW SHIRT DAY! Glow Up your SHOW SHIRT LOOK by tucking it into fun pants or skirts, adding accessories and wearing your hair in show style - braided and/or up and fabulous! CLEAN those shirts and put them in the dryer. Hang them up HOT out of the dryer, being careful not to stretch out the necks. Smooth out wrinkles! Make them brand new!
We need to SELL OUT our Show Shirts! Anyone can purchase at any time. Have a family member or friend that wants a Show Shirt? You can buy directly from JORDAN or MAC with $20 at any time.
THURSDAY is GREET THE BUSES with those fabulous SHOW SHIRT LOOKS ready to rock the hallways of Juanita! Look on One Note by the end of MONDAY for your Groups Leaders and locations around the school for putting out posters! Times will also be posted, but plan on either being here early OR hopping off your bus and joining the group.
FRIDAY IS OUR FINAL SING IN THE COMMONS AND PHOTO BOOTH! We will also have the Photo Booth for Friday and Saturday in the Lobby for the Shows!
SHOW INVITES will be given out on Monday for you to pass out to students and teachers! Have some left over from STATE? Start passing them out on Monday! Need some? Come see Mac on Monday during passing to 6th or 7th or directly after school on your way home. If that doesn't work with your schedule, pick them up on Tuesday!
INVITE your TEACHERS and remind them to use the STAFF CODE on the email I sent them. If your teacher has seen the show, have them spread the news and get other teachers to attend! Personally invite the Admin, Librarians, Counselors, Kitchen Staff and other adults at school. Invite your coaches, club leaders!
TICKETS are on sale by going to the HOME PAGE! Encourage your family and friends to buy their tickets to make sure they get the seats they want. Only FOUR MORE SHOWS!
6th and 7th: Backstage Tours and New UNITS!
Between Matinee and Evening Shows on Saturday: CAST/STAGE/BOOTH will remain at school for a dinner break. Remember to pack snacks and dinner! HOUSE will leave and return at call times.
BOOTH AWARDS are AFTER the 7pm Show on Saturday! EVERYONE gets an Award! Bring a snack to eat on stage, and don't miss this event! House Pickups will be at 9:30pm. Cast Pickups are at 10:15pm. Leadership and Booth Pickups are at 11pm.
Monday is a NO DRAMA day. This day is intended for you to rest and make sure you are ready for the week. I am asking Drama to go straight home. Do not go to other houses or out and about. Try staying off your phones or other screens (except homework). Go home, do your homework, clean your room, organize what you need for the week, eat well, walk the dog, cuddle with your cat, chat with your family, go to bed early and be ready for our final BIG week of Alice By Heart!

When you respond to the Monday Letter at [email protected]:
- 1. Use a unique two word phrase in the subject line that is like a title for the week's content. Be fun! Your subject lines often make me smile:). Do NOT Say Monday Letter.
- 2. Say hi, reflect on what we have been doing.
- 3. Share what you know and understand is coming up for the week.
- 4. Ask questions and/or share something you did over the weekend, or something about yourself you want me to know. This could be a hobby, an activity with friends or family, a book you are reading.
